TANGAROA BLUE PARTNERSHIP

BYOBottle Business Partner

We-Refill are so excited to announce our commitment as a BYOBottle Business Partner in the BYOBottle campaign. We-Refill provided Refilling Hydration Stations front & back of stage at Bluesfest 2019. Our 11 hydration stations were spread across all festival stages, VIP, volunteers HQ, site operations HQ and emergency services making it easy to refill and stay hydrated!!

Over the Easter Weekend Jack Johnson and the band headlined the 30th Annual Byron Bay Bluesfest at the beautiful Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm just outside of Byron Bay. Jack was honoured to be included on such a great lineup. With so many talented musicians around the collaborations were inevitable. Jack jumped up with Ben Harper on Saturday night for a rendition of “My Own Two Hands”. Then during Jack’s Sunday night headlining show, musical friends Paula Fuga, Lukas Nelson, and Gary Clark Jr. joined Jack for a memorable set on the Mojo stage.

Jack, Ben Harper and Lukas Nelson were also some of the artists to help kick off the BYOBottle campaign globally at Bluesfest. As part of the BYOBottle campaign launch Jack refilled fan’s reusable bottles at the We-Refill water stations in the front of house lounge area. Some of the lucky fans won the opportunity to join representatives along with Jack and Lukas Nelson at a beach cleanup hosted by Tangaroa Blue and We-Refill on Easter morning. See more info on the campaign and how you can get involved below.

The BYOBottle Campaign engages artists, venues, festivals, and fans to reduce plastic waste in the music industry by promoting reusable water bottles and water refill stations at music events.

We are proud to join the BYOBottle Campaign, a music industry effort to reduce plastic waste by promoting reusable water bottles and water refill stations at music events. Artists, venues, festivals and fans are joining non-profits and business partners to turn the tide on plastic pollution. Recent press images have highlighted the shocking sea of plastic waste left behind after concerts and festivals, but momentum to promote solutions in the music scene is growing. Testimonials

We met Brett and the we-refill team at splendour in the grass 2017. We had attempted to drink the water provided in the water tanks by the festival but it was clear drinking that water all weekend was not going to be an option - horrible taste/awkward locations to refill. We thought we'd have to buy bottles all weekend but then  Brett came to our rescue with his refill station which provided us with cold, filtered water at almost any time of the day and night.

It was invaluable to us and our experience as a whole at the festival and the obvious reduction in single-use plastic was obviously dramatically reduced. We got to know Brett and the crew as we regularly popped back to refill and loved his friendly nature and positive attitude. Always smiling and always happy for us to refill as many times as we needed to across the whole weekend.

Brett and his team are an absolute essential at every festival! We look forward to seeing Brett at our next festival.

Found the We-Refill product at Splendour in the Grass this year and fell in love with the concept, idea, product and Brett and his team straight away. The idea of not having to buy (and waste) plastic just to drink water really ticked all the right boxes for me. Brought one of the Silicone bottles (great for carrying empty into the festival rolled up). What I and my wife liked about the product was that you know that you are getting clean filtered water at the festival (always a bit suss on the free refill water tanks), you have 3 choices depending on your mood, and it encouraged good habits on health and the environment. A side benefit for me was that I drank more water over the 4 days which enabled me to see (and remember) lots more music. Good fun also making the refill location as a key meeting place to catch up with friends before heading to a gig. All in all, a great product and a great idea. Keep up the great work guys.
